WASHINGTON — Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey on Wednesday appeared to open the door to resigning over his bribery indictment after having beforehand flatly ruled out leaving the Senate for that purpose.
Asked by NBC News if he was planning to resign, Menendez replied that he “will announce it when it comes time.”
Menendez and his spouse, Nadine, have been charged in Manhattan federal court docket two weeks in the past with taking bribes within the type of tons of of hundreds of {dollars} in cash, gold, a luxurious automotive, and residential mortgage funds in trade for the Democratic lawmaker utilizing his workplace to attempt to assist three New Jersey businessmen with numerous points.
