Chinese corporations have gained floor in global patent holdings in the cybersecurity expertise sector amid rising U.S.-China tensions, based on a report from Nikkei Asia on Sunday.

Chinese companies such as Huawei and Tencent accounted for six of the highest 10 global patent holdings in the cybersecurity expertise sector as of August, based mostly on knowledge compiled by Nikkei in cooperation with U.S. data providers supplier LexisNexis.
