Disgraced Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes will report to jail on May 30

Elizabeth Holmes, the disgraced CEO of Theranos, should report to jail on May 30, in accordance to a ruling issued Wednesday by US District Judge (*30*) Davila. Holmes should report to jail no later than 2:00pm native time on that day, and is predicted to start her 11-year sentence at a minimum-security facility in Bryan, Texas.
On Tuesday, an appeals courtroom rejected Holmes’ bid to keep out of jail whereas she appeals her conviction. In one other Tuesday ruling, Judge Davila ordered that Holmes and former Theranos government Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani pay $452 million in restitution to victims.
Last yr, a federal jury in San Jose, California, convicted Holmes on 4 counts of defrauding traders in Theranos, and in November, Judge Davila sentenced her to 11 years and three months in jail.
Holmes, 39, has two kids, the primary of whom was born earlier than her fraud trial in 2021. The second was born after her sentencing.
