Europe’s prime courtroom on Thursday sided with Amazon in a case during which the U.S. e-commerce large was accused by the European Commission of unlawful tax advantages.
The European Court of Justice (ECJ) stated that the Commission, the EU’s government arm, had “not established” {that a} tax settlement between Amazon and Luxembourg was “a state help that was incompatible with the inner market.”
“We welcome the Court’s ruling, which confirms that Amazon adopted all relevant legal guidelines and acquired no particular therapy,” Amazon stated in an announcement on Thursday.
